The overall objective of MODIPLANT is to introduce inside the steel production route the theme of RES electrification, by means of design, installation and test of two alternative heating systems. Therefore, the final aim is to switch from a production based on fossil fuels, to a production with reduced CO₂ emissions (until to the zero emissions conditions).

Specific objectives are:

• O1. Integration of induction furnace module in hot dip metal coating process
• O2. Realization of RES heating technology, through Joule effect
• O3. Definition of optimized operating windows for long and flat product heating, by RES process electrification
• O4. Development of energy management IT tool
• O5. Ensuring the exploitation and visibility of the project, through elaboration of business plan and stakeholder management
